Located in the Community of Valencia, we can say that Alicante is one of those provinces that everyone who decides to visit will love it. With a large number of contrasts, it is striking that, being a coastal place, Alicante has so many tourist attractions and so varied.
The Town Hall Square
It does not matter if it is when you start the tour or when you finish it, although if we are honest, at Victoria Cars we think it should start and end here. A visit to the Tow Hall Square is a must. As a significant square within the city, it is essential to visit its porticoed buildings, which surround the square and give it an unparalleled beauty and majesty.
However, we will not only be able to find first class architecture. The little ones in the house will be able to have a good time thanks to the dancing fountain. A way for everyone to enjoy and have a good time visiting one of the most important places in the province.
The Santa Cruz district
We have already said that Alicante is a place of contrasts. Well, in the heart of Alicante you will find the Santa Cruz district.
A place with a great personality that stands out for all the streets and alleys that are interlaced with each other forming a unique network. Of course, as a typical coastal neighbourhood, its many white buildings full of flowers and its numerous bars are not to be missed. A perfect way to stop and refresh yourself before continuing your journey.
The Concathedral of St. Nicholas
We are not leaving the Santa Cruz district yet, as there is still a marvel to visit.
We are referring to the Concathedral of San Nicolas. A place that the Victoria Cars team recommends visiting, without a doubt. Of Renaissance and Gothic style, is considered the most important religious temple of all Alicante. Built on what was once an old mosque, it is one of those places that leave a mark once visited.
The Springs of the Algar
Only 16 kilometres from Benidorm you will find the Springs of Algar (ALGAR SPRINGS O FUENTES DEL ALGAR, SEGÚN QUIERA PONERLO). A set of beautiful waterfalls, which have the peculiarity of being connected by aquatic channels, also known as creeks, in which you can even take a refreshing bath.
Although it is true that during the summer the Springs of Algar (ALGAR SPRINGS O FUENTES DEL ALGAR, SEGÚN QUIERA PONERLO) are a little more crowded, it is no less true that this is a place worth going to all year round. Even if you cannot swim and enjoy its waters, there is no doubt that a snapshot with that beauty on your back would be extraordinary.
The Santa Cruz district
If there is one thing that characterises Alicante, it is that it has tourist attractions at any time of the year. A clear example is this neighbourhood in Santa Cruz. An area that although it is true that you can visit during the 365 days is not less certain that if you go in May you will be able to enjoy the celebration of the May crosses.
This is a deeply-rooted festivity that takes place between the 2nd and 5th and in which all the streets of the neighbourhood are filled with crosses made of flowers. This reminds us of the moment when Jesus was crucified.
The source of the river Vinapoló
There is no doubt that in Victoria Cars the route along the Vinapoló River is one of our favourite. A route that is made for those people who like to take their rucksack and enjoy everything that nature has to offer.
It is a very simple route ideal for all people. Furthermore, from our own experience we know that it can be done even with children and pets. A way to spend a day together and disconnect from the noise of the big city.
The Island of Tabarca
This is one of the great classics that we can find in Alicante. As a coastal province, we believe that there is nothing better than getting on a boat to have a complete experience.
An island which is actually a small group of islands formed by La Cantera, La Nao and La Galera and which is inhabited to the surprise of many. Once there, the decision on what to do is yours, although if we have to make some recommendations we believe that visiting the beach, as well as the church of San Pablo and San Pedro are fundamental.
The Castle of Santa Barbara
If you are one of those people who are fascinated by history, there is nothing better than climbing the top of the Benantil mountain and enjoying the amazing Santa Barbara castle.
Built in the 9th century, this Moorish castle was used as a detention centre during the Civil War. However, not only the castle is a real wonder. If you want to enjoy an unparalleled sunset there is nothing better than enjoying it in what they call the face of the Moor. An area of this mountain that, seen from a certain perspective, resembles the face of a Moor.
A total of 8 enclaves that you can visit at any time in Alicante. We are aware that there are many more, but in Victoria Cars we believe that this can be a good way to start enjoying all the charm of this province of the Community of Valencia.
Beach, sun, a great gastronomy and a total cultural richness are the attractions you have to get lost, alone or in company, during some days and return to the daily routine with an additional energy contribution. Can you think of a better plan to enjoy these wonderful lands of Alicante?
