This village is located in the valley that gives it its name, which it also shares with the Jalon River that crosses its district and which is approximately 55 kilometres long.
Although the Jalon is located on flat land, its surroundings are more rugged and in fact some of its attractions are offered by the Sierra de Bernia and the Ferrer mountains, which are usually a destination for tourist routes and hikes that are more typical of the interior.
Although it is not a coastal town, it does enjoy a mild climate so common in towns that are close to the sea.
Another interesting feature is its history, of which we find vestiges from the period of Arab domination, such as the Castle of Aixa. Even more ancient are the cave paintings found in the Barranco del Manzano, or Roman ruins of a town just over 5 kilometres from the town of Jalon.
Jalon has a small range of accommodation, more focused on rural tourism, although it also has some small hotels such as Casa Con Destino. However, both, in the village and its surroundings, what we can find is a good number of rural houses, which try to take advantage of the attraction of its nature, adding to its proximity to the sea.
Therefore, the ideal dates to visit this place are distributed almost throughout the year, but especially from the spring months, during the summer for its proximity to beaches and bays, and in autumn when still more inland tourism continues with its activity.
If you wish to coincide your visit with the most important fiesta you should visit Jalon at the beginning of August, when the Fiestas Patronales are held, this way you will find popular festivals, float parades, or the bull-running in its small square.

Car rental made easy
WE WILL BRING YOUR CAR RENTAL TO JALON
Jalon is one of those towns in the Marina Alta region that is ideal for those who prefer the tranquillity of a place that is a little further away from the coast, but not too far from large tourist centres such as Calpe, Benidorm or Alicante.
The nearest coastal area to Jalon is Moraira which is approximately 30 minutes away by car, so the tourist who decides to stay in Jalón are probably not the one who wants to be on the beach every morning, but who does want to enjoy visiting a bay or walking along a promenade.
At Victoria Cars we have a wide variety of rental cars that can meet the needs of any tourist. From the smallest models, like the Fiat 500, to family cars like the Opel Astra SW, to vans like the Mercedes V Class. Check rates and availability for your travel dates.
THE MOST ATTRACTIVE PLACES TO VISIT IN THE SURROUNDINGS OF JALON
Mirador de Bernia: it is an ideal natural environment for those who love walks that will help us to discover a very well preserved flora and fauna. This viewpoint allows the wide contemplation of the Sierra de Bernia that separates the regions of Marina Alta and Marina Baja, the coastal area and all the surrounding towns.
Cueva de las calaveras: although it is 440 metres long, you can only visit the area that is not flooded, which is about 200 metres long. Paleolithic flint tools were found in this cave.
Cueva del Rull: slightly more distant from Jalon, but also interesting for those who are interested in what the land hides. For more information about visiting this cave, please consult the Vall d’Ebo Town Hall page dedicated to this cave.
